Travel news

Mountains diving into the sea; hills covered by olive groves and vineyards; well-known resorts along the coast; and lovely villages full of charm and history scattered throughout the hinterland: this is what awaits for you here. Bordighera, Ospedaletti, Sanremo, Taggia are well-known seaside resorts of the Riviera, while the villages of Apricale, Pigna, Dolceacqua, Bajardo, and Triora are to be found in the hinterland.

The Riviera dei Fiori (Riviera of Flowers) is the land of colours, of sunshine and blue sky, and of everlasting springtime. Multicoloured flowers decorate flowerbeds and gardens and bloom in greenhouses that shine under the sun and are scattered throughout the hills along the coast. Seaside resorts can odder you tourist and sports facilities together with interesting itineraries to the discovery of local history and traditions.

Moving to the hinterland, you can visit several villages, such as Dolceacqua (with the ancient castle of the Doria family) and Apricale - a village perched on the mountain side and characterised by narrow carrugi (i.e., steep alleys which are typical of Liguria), artists' workshops, and frescoes that decorate its houses - while Bajardo lies on a spur from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Maritime and Ligurian Alps.
In Bordighera you will find the northernmost palm grove in Europe and late-nineteenth-century Liberty villas. Ospedaletti will offer you its palm trees, villas, and gardens.

San Remo is known as the town of flowers and sunshine. It can offer you its almost endless ways of entertainment, such as tourist attractions, sports facilities, oenogastronomic and sports itineraries, and shows that take place all year round - e.g., the Corso Fiorito (i.e., San Remo Flowers Carnival parade), the Italian Song Festival, and the cycling Milano-San Remo or the Car Rally Race.
Taggia will offer you its stately town walls and the most important picture-gallery of Western Liguria. Past Santo Stefano al mare, you will reach Imperia - the chief town of the district - where you can visit the old town centres of Oneglia and Porto Maurizio.
